PRESS RELEASE
For immediate release

After winning the Gold Vestale at the Cannes International Pyrotechnic Festival in 2002, Kimbolton Fireworks Ltd. returns to Montreal

An amazing pyromusical epic presented on five canvasses:
space, romance, adventure, love and the great classics

Montreal, July 25, 2003 - At 10 p.m. on Saturday July 26, the pyrotechnicians from the British company Kimbolton Fireworks Ltd. invite Montrealers to spend A Night at the Movies. On the menu, stirring music from movies such as Star Wars, ET, Mission Impossible, James Bond and Moulin Rouge. The company from England also has numerous surprises for fireworks fans.

Saturday's audience will have the chance to discover a new type of bombette unique to Kimbolton that miniaturizes bombs of higher calibre to harmonize arrangements bound to take our breath away. In addition, more special effects never before seen in Montreal will surprise the crowd.

"With Saturday's show, fireworks fans will marvel at the five different canvasses representing great cinematic themes," explains Darryl Fleming, fireworks creator for the Montréal presentation. The first canvas will take you on a trip through space and time, and will be followed by a romantic moment. Adventure and action will surface following the Love Medley. The evening will finish with the music from the great classics of the seventh art. Mr. Fleming revealed that the music for A Night at the Movies was selected with care: "We created the soundtrack so that people will recognize the music instantly. They won't be wondering about the music's origin and then can give all their attention to the show," he added.

Founded in 1964 by Reverend Ron Lancaster, Kimbolton Fireworks is currently the largest manufacturer of pyrotechnical pieces in Great Britain. The English company can produce up to 60 traditional fireworks and pyromusical shows over a single weekend.

Omnipresent on the international stage, Kimbolton Fireworks has received numerous distinctions for the excellence of their work over the years. In addition to having earned a special Jupiter in Montréal in 1993, these master pyrotechnicians from England have won a Silver Vestal at the prestigious Cannes International Pyrotechnic Festival in 2001, which permitted them to compete and win the Gold Vestal at the same festival in 2002.

Well, Environment Canada has been more accurate than MeteoMedia recently, but both have been too pessimistic. Also, if there's a chance of showers, that usually means the clouds are due to daytime heating. By the time the sun goes down, the source of energy driving the showers goes away and so the showers tend to disappear as well.

I guess you could just call me an optimist. Out of interest, tomorrow's display will be the 100th I've seen in the competition since coming to Montreal 10 years ago (from England). So it's appropriate that it is a team from the land of my birth.

Paul.
