Paul

Simple answer for the lack of Eric Tucker: the competition is for fireworks companies, not individual designers. There are no US companies that still exist which have won Gold, therefore, there are none that can be invited. Yes, I know there's Austin. Let's not go there. As for why Royal aren't competing, you'd have to ask them. As far as I know, all eligible Gold Jupiter winners were invited. I know companies in the past have turned down an invitation because the dates just were too inconvient for what is often the busiest time of the year for them.

Anyway, we are going to be witnesses to a fabulous competition which, I suspect, will go down in the annals of history as the best year ever for the Mondial SAQ.

Paul

PPA was acquired by Pyrospectaculars in late 2001. As far as I know, Eric is now working as an independent consultant, though he did put on the Boston 4th July displays in both 2002 and 2003 (see photos on this site here ) for Pyrospectaculars. Since Pyrospectaculars did themselves compete in 2001 and didn't win the Gold, it is difficult to see how they could have been invited this year.
