It is by Vangelis (from the Conequest of Paradise CD as far as I know).

The music sequence is like this:

1) Chariots of fire
Then Michel Lacroix does his introduction.

2) Winter by David Foster
The pyro team is now crossing the lake in the boat

3) 1492 by Vangelis
This plays as the team is introduced on the stage

4) More Vangelis from Conquest of Paradise (I think)
This fills in the time until the countdown from 10.

I think the last piece played just before the countdown just follows on directly (on the CD) from the one before it. I'll ask the audio production guys when I'm there on Wednesday what the titles of those two pieces are.

OK, here is the definitive order.

1) Chariots of fire (Vangelis)
Announcements by Michel Lacroix
2) Winter by David Foster (while the boat goes round the lake)
3) Light and Shadow (from 1492, Vangelis)
as the pyro crew is introduced on stage
4) Opening titles from The Bounty (Vangelis)
5) Closing titles from The Bounty, leading up to the countdown from 10

and what about "Conquest Of Paradise"?

do they play that???

Posted: Jul 21, 2003 12:25:32

It seems not - there are definitely 5 pieces of music, but it could be that the music they play when the pyro crew are being introduced on stage may include "Conquest Of Paradise".

I'll have an answer for sure on Wednesday since I'll look at the production script. But at least we managed to identify the two pieces that lead up to the countdown!

yeah, thats what i thought,
damn these songs r excellent, beautiful, La ronde should release a cd with these 5 songs lol!

Yes they should.

My favorite is the song "Conquest of Paradise" by Vangelis. This is such a powerful and beautiful song.

The best thing is the way the Argentinian firm used this song to start of their show! It was so good! Especially, during the segment, when those bright yellow flares spark in the bottom! It was really dramatic!

Hey Paul and Enkil, I really didn't know that they play these soundtracks before the countdown! I'm not too familiar with the other three songs, but I know the song Chariots of Fire," very very well. That song played for my aunt's wedding!! So I love this song as well, it brings back memories.

They're not going to change the soundtrack next year, are they? I want to hear it again.

Please reply soon.

u can download them at kazaa

Oh yeah, Enkil, and this message goes for all Kazaa users, do not, I repeat DO NOT make any downloads due to a virus that's going on in the program presently. It already affected many, so I suggest that we wait until it's safe again, that's what I'm going to do

For more details, check in the papers for an artical, I forget which section.

Once again, please refrain from using this program for now until further notice. I'll try to keep you guys informed.

r u talking about the Blaster virus?

i personally im not affraid of virus, but theres 10% chances that the file u download is a virus, so theres nothing to worry about, u check if its a mp3 file and everything will fine.......

u could also scan if u have antivirus, well if u want to stay 100% safe u can wait

Posted: Aug 13, 2003 14:11:48

Yeah I guess I'll play it safe. But, still 10% chance of getting it can still very well happen.

I have to be careful, because I hate viruses and I know what there capable of doing. That's not a bad idea to use antivirus, but still, you never know. I'll just play it safe.

I'm not sure if that's the name of the virus, but I know it's been causing a lot of havoc.
