I don't know if they will put anything else up on the site or not. I'm sure the people who worked on it are taking a well-deserved break, as I should be! I will be putting up some more photos on my site today or tomorrow (so far, just England).

Paul.

Yes Paul, you do really deserve a break!!

But, Enkil, how did you manage to make a 10 minute video with a one minute clip of each display, sounds interesting and pretty neat none the less. How did get a piece of each display?

its not a 10 min display, i just said that becuz i believe there 10 countries.. (maybe yet)

but i have made up to 8:53min right now

what i exactly did is, i download each clip from mondialsaq.com i edit out all the parts where there the monidal pictures in the video, then with the program i have added 2gether all the videos so its a non stop 8:53 min fireworks hehe

its pretty kewl, everytime i watch, i feel the magic when i was there

i think its illegal to do this? i dunno, but i had to do this, i never got a video the fireworks, well, it will be for me personnally, and i will forever treasure it!

i got the skills on video making so everything went good

i wish i could show to u all, im sure u all would love it..

Yes, it's too bad indeed. Just one thing Enkil, do you think you can show me how to do it? If it is illegal, then forget it.

BTW, did you read my little response about France in 2003? You should read it. I'm eager to hear your response.

Oh yeah, are you still going to participate in the little competition? Let me know soon.

Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

Hello, Enkil, it's Trav, or Smoke, if you prefer.

I just wanted to tell you, although you didn't attend that far back, I have to tell you, France was one crazy display! Something I will never forget! I too was younger, only around 9 or 10 years of age and now I'm 19 and I still can't get it out of my head.

To tell you the truth, I used to be terrified of fireworks and also I sometimes cried, lol. sigh.........(I just haddddddd to go tell him that)

Anyway, don't worry about the video clip explanation. You can just describe your video to me and how it turned out, if you'd like to, that is.

Oh yeah, I don't think I will be joining the competition anymore, I think it will be too much of a hasel to get all the requirements, as well as make the purchases. However, I have this bad habit of changing my mind every 2-3 seconds!

I really wanted to though, especially, like you said, the background, that's what intreagued me to participate. There's always a catch! Anyway, the chances of my participation is a small probability of 30 to 50%, unless I change my mind, that is.

Although you didn't know about the fireworks back then, Paul might reply to me soon about my comments on France in 1993. So, if you want, you can check out my new topic called "France of 1993." It was posted for a couple of days. I'm just waiting on Paul's response.

BTW, when did you start coming to the show? Reply soon.

Chow,

Trav.

in fact, ive seen kids who cry during the fireworks, years before, when my lil cousin came it was a monday night fireworks show she cried, makes me wonder, if i ever have kids, would they cry and screw my night? grr LOL

"BTW, when did you start coming to the show? "

to tell u the truth i dunno, thats right i dont know, all i know is i was the only one who found out about the fireworks at la ronde, i was the only 1 who promote it to my sisters and every1 in my community, also a friend of mine, which i was the 1st 1 who brought the fireworks, to this damn community (family, friends, etc) of mine

i know that since 1995 ive been watching fireworks, around 1995 - 1994, but not 1993 im pretty sure on that

but the thing i was a kid back then i didnt even know it was competition i knew nothing, the only thing i knew it was some countries who made fireworks FOR THE FUN OF IT, pretty funny hein?

as more years passed 1997 - 1998 - 1999, i started understanding more

it was in 2000 when i became the freak of this competition, i went to all the fireworks except Switzerland, and that was because of threat of the rain (BUT NOTHING HAPPENED! AS PAUL SAID) other than that i went of all of it, but the best part was I WAS IN LA RONDE WATCHING FROM LA RONDE, i used to sit near the poutine ride area, its where theres all the plastique chairs, i had to be at la ronde at 5:00 every night, to get the sits, it was a great experince that i will never forgot being so close to it.. 1 of the high lights on my life

2000 was my big record yet,
2001, 2002 i didnt get much chance to watch i only went to the bridge near la ronde enter, thats the best view i know, but i watched 2001 and 2002 almost of the best ones, i used to watch usally 5-6 display out of 10

2003, this year has been great i only missed 3 display (which were the worst ones) so a second record, the best one is 2000, and then 2003

as im grewing up i plan on going all of them to beat my record, which is a very hard throught the theat of the rain

so really there was only magic in me when i was a kid, ive grown up on this as a kid, and i will continu go to there..

thats my story, thx for reading

Very nice story indeed, Enkil. Something similar to me.
I'll give my story later on.
Anyway, When France played in 1993, they were by far the loudest display I've ever seen. Even with the countries I see before me today, that was still the loudest. I think you would have enjoyed it. They also had lots of cardboard and paper that filled the air and the finale was incredible.

If you want to know more about it, you can visit Paul's report for France in 1993 and you can come to my latest topic for more info and details, which is called "France of 1993." It was there recently. You can check it out.

Byeeeeeeeeeeee! See you tomorrow, and hopefully Paul.

I think the reason the French display of 1993 seemed to be the loudest was due to the wind direction, which is why we got covered by some much debris at the De Lorimier/Notre Dame location. Really, every display with a big finale produces just as much debris as the French display did that year, but usually the wind blows it into the river.

The US finale in 1995 was much bigger and louder than the French finale of 1993, but the wind was in a different direction so it didn't seem quite as loud. Remember, pretty much all shells are made of paper and card and that stuff has to come down somewhere!

Yes, I was reading your report for the U.S in 1995. I remember them somewhat, but I remember their ending, now that seemed like some kind of time bomb! I have to agree with you, the ending was pretty massive and yes it was exceedingly long, I think you said 3-5 minutes, about. I also do think that they had one of the best endings that I have ever seen since 1990!

About France in 1993, I'm not too sure about the wind direction that year at the time, but I know they were very loud and there were large amounts of cardboard eveywhere, scattered about and reaching as far as the city. My dad's car was covered up in paper and black stuff as well as surrounding vehiculs having the same situation, I remember it very very well. I don't recall any other country having that effect. It really was something to remember. Do you agree?

Anyway, for both dispalys, the French in 93 and the U.S in 95, both made my ears ring and pounded my eardrums, lol.

See ya Paul, tell me what you think, ok. Thx.

Trav.
