After such a great performance and ended up winning the silver Jupiter last year, they didn't even come close this year!

If they had done something similar to their disaply last year, we would have to consider 7 displays all deserving an award instead of 6! It would have been even more tight this year, I'm sure Paul would agree with me. I'm not saying they were bad, but just not as good as I had hoped, I was actually looking foward to their performance this year, hoping they would attempt to do something better.

However, since they appeared 3 times in the competition so far, I hope they come back next year and try again, this time even better.

Hey Paul and Enkil, were you guys dissapointed? Please reply soon.

Don't forget that it is more than a "country" that competes: it as a company from the country and, surprise surprise, some countries have more than one fireworks company.

The Portuguese company that competed this year was not the same one that won the Silver Jupiter last year (complete with the cool 1 2 3 numbers sequence on the ring), but was the same company that competed in 2001.

This type of thing is true for many countries. Really, one needs to name the company when making a comparison between different years.

You're right Paul, I guess I got carried away,lol.

I almost forgot about what I'm comparing. It's a shame that the same company as last year didn't come back this year, wouldn't you say? That being said, I totally forgot about how many companies a country can have!! It's just flawless!

I should have forseen this because I didn't see that beautiful Portuguese Ring this year, so I should have known it was a different company participating.

I will consider fireworks companies from now on before I compare a country in different years! Yes indeed, it's more than just a country, it's also the company. This may play a vital role in the reasons for the difference in performance levels! Different companies!! Portugal in this case.

BTW Paul, do you know which country has the most fireworks companies? I think it's the U.S., in my opinion.

Oh yeah, the same comapany that participated for Portugal this year, did they do a better job in 2001?

Please reply soon. Thx.
