"Dragons and Butterflies" by China's Sunny International Co,, recipient of a gold Jupiter in 1992

CHINESE DRAGONS AND BUTTERFLIES IN THE SKY OF MONTRÉAL

Montréal, July 16, 2004 - On Saturday, July 16, at 10 p.m., the master pyrotechnicians of the Chinese firm Sunny International Co. will attempt to win over the hearts of Montréalers with "Dragons and Butterflies", a flamboyant Chinese-style pyromusical performance that will combine tradition and innovation and allow the public to glimpse another aspect of Chinese culture.

Highlighting this event, and to cheer his country towards the platinum Jupiter, Chinese Embassy's Minister Counsellor CHU Guangyou, will make a speech during the opening ceremony at 9:30 p.m. on the floating stage of La Ronde's Lac des Dauphins.

Again, the public has the opportunity to experience the originality, talent and daring of Sunny International's artists directly from Place du Canada at La Ronde. Designed by the President of the firm, Mr. Jim Shih, and choreographed by Eric Tucker, "Dragons and Butterflies" will use pyrotechnic pieces produced exclusively in Sunny International Co.'s factories. Spectators will be fascinated with the astonishing new effects like a 3 dimension cube, crackling willow flowers and marvellous new crossettes. Also, the firm will use brand new colours such as aqua, steel blue, lemon and orange.

The musical score for "Dragons and Butterflies" was selected to entertain Montreal's western crowd with Chinese classical and folk music. Throughout the show, the public will travel pyromuscially between elegance and strength, from soft "butterfly" moments to powerful dragon" intensity.
