A RADIANT CINEMATIC BLOCKBUSTER
WILL GLITTER IN THE DARK

Montréal, July 20, 2004 - At 10 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, the sky painters of Lacroix-Ruggieri will immerse Montrealers in the history of the seventh art by showering their imaginations in technicolour dreams.

Highlighting this event, and to cheer his country towards the platinum Jupiter, Mr. Pierre Colliot, France's Cultural Attaché will speak at the opening ceremony at 9:30 p.m. from the floating stage of La Ronde's Lac des Dauphins.

Conceived under the theme A Journey Through the Movies of the World, the French fireworks co-creator. Mr. Jean-Paul Costes will begin his show with a short narration in tribute to Mr. Claude Nougaro who passed away on March 4. It is through pyrotechnical effects such as the remarkable spinning baskets, mosaic bombs and brilliant green diamantina, to a background of contemporary and varied music that the Montréal audience will be transported to the five continents to discover the seventh art.

To give their presentation an extraordinary effect, the master pyrotechnicians from France have imagined and set up two impressive, 12-metre high towers to represent the Eiffel Tower and create an effect never-before-seen in Montréal.

The musical repertoire behind the pyrotechnical show A Journey Through the Movies of the World has also been carefully selected to offer a mesmerizing rhythm. The most famous and best loved movie soundtracks from films such as Harry Potter, James Bond, Titanic, The Fifth Element, to name just a few, will be used to create an atmosphere that evokes the great cinema classics.
