It's looking to be a mild New Year's Day, but expect intense Arctic air to return by Monday night into Tuesday, where daytime highs may be as low as -16 C, while overnight lows approaching the mid -20s C (windchills near the mid -30s due to gusty northwesterlies).

I hope for a nice lineup for the 2012 Montreal fireworks competition, along with many complex displays and strong finales!
