sorry if its off topic, i thought maybe some1 here knowns the answer

any1 here remember the old ride "Telefrique" in La Ronde.. does any1 know why that ride isnt working anymore? i know this was long time ago, ive been on that rides number of times, and like it.. i heard that a dad and a son feel in Lacs des Dauphins, and later died, i have no idea if its true or just a rumour, maybe La Ronde is covering it

its also odd, it seems that every year the wires r always there, im just curious...

I don't know why exactly the ride was closed. However, I do remember that it was dangerous and not secure, for the riders and for the employees who had to stop them at both stations.

why was the ride dangerous, theres alot of amusmant parks who have this ride..

Since I've been going to La Ronde, I noticed that it hadn't been functioning for the longest time. I didn't actually know it was dangerous. But anyway, I believe it was meant to take you across the park in case you didn't want to walk the distance. I remember taking it, you get a pretty nice view and yes it did beat walking.

Funny you mentioned this question, Enkil, because I always wondered the same thing! Every year that I go, I always think it would be repaired.

I don't think it's dangerous or maybe it is, but yes, a lot of amusement parks have this ride and they function, I assume, correctly.

i know that it was always there since expo 67, and that was when La Ronde was opened, so maybe there keeping it for souvenir..?

it seems like that ride is always a mystery, the last time and that was many years ago heard a son and a dad fell, and La Ronde gave there family million of dollars

ive been on that ride alot of time, i also have a pic cousins in it, i remember when we used to go in with my family, my dad loved it, it would be kewl if it reopened somehow lol.. would bring me back alot of memories..

I now what you mean, however, it would be very nice and convinient if it did open again, I liked that ride so much as well. To tell you the truth, the last time I went on it was 11 or 12 years ago!!!! I was only 7 or 8 years old. lol

Did that really happen to a father and his son? How sad, but I never heard of anything like that about the ride before. I thought it was just broken and hasn't been repaired in the longest time. I hope they fix it up soon.

just got word on my mail box

well now thats interessing, seem to me some1 lied... heh

7 nouveau manege -> hrmmmmmmmmmmmmmm *lol* i wonder what they r

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, that's what I thought.

Did you just get that letter?

I thought it needed some repairs.... but I didn't know it was the cables!!

The letter said 7 new rides, might include a roller coaster? That's good!! I can't wait!!!

Anyway, I hope they repair the Telefrique soon, hopefully by next year.

As I said before, it will be very convinient if it's active again. I love it. I didn't ride it for 11 or 12 years, hopefully soon, I can ride it again.

And hopefully there will be 7 new rides!! Lookin good!!

I agree with you, Frederick.

I hope they rebuild that ride again sometime soon. It looks like some new rides are coming too! So looking good this year and next year! I think I will check out that web site and take a look at some photos on the new rides.

Like I said before, I haven't been on that ride for over a decade, I really want to go on it again.

I was also telling Enkil, it will be convinient for many people who don't like to walk because that ride takes you clear across the park to around where the feris wheel is.

Believe me, a lot of people will benefit from the ride and yes it will be great for usage in a fireworks display!

Regards,

I wish they'd take down the téléphérique since the wires spoil all the photographs. If you look at the photos on this site, most of them have the wires crossing the image. My photographer friends would be really happy if they got rid of that ride

I don't mind it's presence at all.

But, I wish they would get it going again. Like I said many times in the past to lots of people, it really would be convinient for many if it was running again. I didn't ride it for more than a decade and I still want it back.

I think it also makes our amusement park look nice.

Sigh..............I wonder what happened to it. I heard Six Flags might be working on it, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's working again next year or in 2005.

Hey Paul, I thought it might look nice with some fireworks pictures, or like I was telling Frederick, it might be good for usage in a fireworks display, wouldn't you say? I think it will, it's an idea.

yeah it does make the La Ronde look nice

but the ride should not be removed, its a very classic ride, and its been there since Expo 67, so it would be kewl if they can save another 1967 ride hehe

Posted: Aug 12, 2003 16:54:47

Yeah, what would La Ronde be without it.

It is really classic and it goes way way back. It's an old friend to me, so I hope it's fixed and ready to go!

It's very faithful, wouldn't you guys say?

Posted: Jul 5, 2005 09:11:50

when the cable car was to close?

Posted: Jul 5, 2005 09:51:17   Edited by: Enkil

There isn't any reports that indicated they will put back the ride. They were only rumours, that was it. But they did remove the cable.

Téléfrique was closed in the 90s, long time ago. But I don't know when exactly.

I always forget to check if they removed the poteaux. I'll check next time, if I don't forget to.

Posted: Jul 5, 2005 09:55:44

Yes, everything has been removed.

Oh well. That's sad to know. Another Expo 67 ride gone.

Posted: Jul 5, 2005 12:39:23

You know what's funny? I didn't even notice when they took it down, let alone notice it was gone!

But really liked it there. It made the park look more like a park.
